Reflections from France: A Two-Week Body Harmony Retreat

As I sit with a cup of tea and the gentle afterglow of our recent retreat, my heart is full.

Teaching alongside Duncan in the tranquil French countryside these past two weeks was not only a joy — it was an honour. Together, we opened a doorway for a remarkable group of individuals whose love of Body Harmony radiated through every session, breath, and quiet breakthrough.

There’s a special kind of alchemy that happens when people come together to listen — truly listen — to themselves, to each other, and to the language of the body. That magic was alive here. It moved through our sessions, continued in the quite conversations between classes, and even showed up in the shared laughter around the dinner table.

Each person brought their own story, their own longing, their own rhythm — and together, we wove something rare: a field of presence, trust, and transformation.

What Made This Retreat Special?
  • Nature was a co-teacher. Surrounded by sun-soaked vineyards, flower filled verges, and ancient oaks, the land itself seemed to whisper encouragement. Sessions felt softer, deeper. Time stretched. Our bodies set the pace of life.
  • The community was brave. Many participants arrived not knowing exactly what they needed — but willing to explore. That openness led to powerful discoveries, deep releases, and moments of real grace.
  • The work evolved. Even for us as teachers, Body Harmony revealed new layers. Duncan and I both felt that this retreat deepened our own understanding of what it means to listen — beyond technique, into pure relational presence.

“These Body Harmony retreats are always a lovely deep dive into the practise. Spending quality time with friends and learning new things whilst enjoying receiving sessions too is highly recommended.”

“A deep learning and healing experience. This was an instructive retreat that managed to provide both challenge and rest. It was also fun and real. “

Looking Ahead to September

If the two-week immersion was a deep breath, then the One Month Body Harmony Retreat this September will be a full season of renewal.

It’s a rare opportunity to live and learn the work at a slower, more integrated pace — to not only receive and offer sessions but to recalibrate your whole way of being. We’ll dive even deeper into somatic intelligence, the language of touch, and the art of transformation. We are going to cover developmental stages and how they transform us and apply to our clients.

Whether you’re new to Body Harmony or returning for the next layer, we invite you to join us. There’s space for you.

With gratitude and love,
Gina Carruthers
