Earlier this month I travelled to Stourbridge to teach a Practitioner Connection Day with fellow Body Harmony Practitioners Jane Brown and Juin Gibson.
The Practitioner Connection Day is an opportunity to support BHA practitioners with any issues or questions they have connected to their practice, and to gain some CPD hours. BHA requires practitioners to complete 32 CPD hours every 2 years.
As we are still quite a small community in UK, I usually invite former practitioners and practitioners in training in UK, Ireland and Europe as well.
On this occasion I asked anyone unable to join us what questions or issues they would like to address if they had been there; and exploring these greatly enriched our day, and our sense of community.
Like a Body Harmony session, the day was client led, working with the material the practitioners brought. I was also able to weave in some of my favourite nuggets I had learnt at the recent International Event in Almunecar, Spain.
It is a great pleasure and an honour for me to work with the practitioners, support their practice, and strengthen our Body Harmony community.
The next practitioner day is in Stourbridge on Saturday 5th April 2025 and I would love to see you there! Learn more about the event here.
You are such a good teacher, really open, approachable, humorous and knowledgeable. I loved how you included the people who did not come, because it enriched our learning, as their questions were also our questions. Having Body Harmony for myself was like giving a thirsty person water! Although I do things for myself, there is nothing like having the focus and attentive awareness of Body Harmony Practitioners. My body was happy and humming for days afterwards.
I loved the day and it reinvigorated my practice. I stay with first order experience more consciously, even though my clients go into story, but I keep bringing them back. Since I did the practice day, I have had great results with my one client. She said to me yesterday that her progress, in physical awareness and release of the trauma in her body, started when she met me, which was a great compliment.
I learned about acceptance, resting in where I am without forcing change. Acceptance also allows me to trust the process of my clients, allowing them to talk the story if they need, whilst gently bringing them to awareness of their body. It was good to be share and experience other practitioners’ ways of working and I keep bringing that awareness into my own sessions.
A full day, which seemed to cover so many things in such a short time. I’m looking forward to the next one.
