This month, during the One-Month Body Harmony Course in Australia, I had an experience that reshaped how I perceive my role as a practitioner. I was working with another Body Harmony teacher, someone who held a grounded embodiment of himself and his own experiences. What struck me most was how his presence on the table enriched the session. He offered gentle feedback in real time, noticing which touches created a positive feeling in his body and which adjustments invited an even deeper sense of benefit.
As I listened and responded, something inside me shifted. My awareness moved away from seeing my hands and arms simply as my hands and arms. Instead, they became tools — extensions of a creative process. It felt as if I were participating in a dimensional artwork, meeting, matching, sponging, and responding in a way that was both deeply engaged and entirely free of overthinking.
I noticed myself discovering new ways of touch. The back of my hand, the bones within my arm, subtle surfaces I hadn’t considered before — all found their place in this living dialogue with fascia and energy. It was as if the hands themselves knew how to move, guided by the flow of the moment and the wisdom of the body beneath them.
The outcome was something unique, both for myself and for my client. The session seemed to open fresh pathways toward their intentions, while also gifting me new insights into the artistry of Body Harmony. It reminded me once again that this work is never static. It is a living practice, evolving every time two people come together in collaboration.
I left the session with a sense of delight and renewal, grateful for how Body Harmony continues to teach me. Each body we touch reveals new possibilities. Each shared moment illuminates how two people, meeting in presence, can create something greater than either could alone.
