In the bath just now I was contemplating the blog that I’d agreed to write for our regular postings to the Body Harmony Association website. Writing about the subject I’d chosen wasn’t flowing easily and struggling with it or forcing it definitely didn’t feel right – not the Body Harmony approach at all!
As I lay back in the warm water and was enjoying it supporting and gently rocking me, a line from Mary Oliver’s poem ‘Wild Geese/ popped into my mind. “You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.”
Aaahhhh the ease that arrived with this and flooded through my physicality, softening and quietening my mind… I took a sweet full breath and tuned into what the soft animal of my body loves. Listing its loves in no particular order, some of them are:
My body loved the exploration and appreciated its loves being recognised and acknowledged. I’ll do more of that.
